My New Toy

Many of you know that my big screen tv died this past spring. I'd had it for 10 years so it was not worth another repair. So - I got rid of it. It's surprising how many people want a free broken tv! I took that opportunity to do without cable for 4 months. I thought it would be hard because I'm a news junkie and love politics but I got through the 4 months famously - don't watch a whole lot of tv anyway and didn't miss it much. I did, however, have my cable turned back on when the new fall season started.

I have a small tv in my bedroom and had an old floor console in the basement that my nephews drug upstairs for me. The problem was immediately noticed by myself ----- Once you're used to watching a large screen its hard to go back to a small screen. I have to squint or find my glasses and I just haven't 'enjoyed' watching tv on the small screen. So I've been shopping around for a new television and tomorrow my new toy gets delivered!!!!!!!

It's not what I was initially looking for. I had planned to get a 50" - 52" table top or wall mountable TV, however, I got such a good deal on this one ($720) that I had to go with it. It's high definition - which what was important to me (trust me - there is a HUGE difference in the picture quality - it really pops!!!!!) I am so excited - I think I'm going to drop out of school so I can lay around and watch tv for six months!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
