McPandering

The assessment in the aftermath of this interview was that McCain was pandering.

Is he really that stupid that he didn't recall he'd written this story in a book? I think, "How could someone so stupid be a nominee for the highest political office in the land?" Then I remember the guy currently occupying the White House.

I wonder if the whole football team story is a lie. Perhaps some of the stories around McCain's days as a P.O.W. were made up in order to make him a more iconic figure for his career as a politician. That would explain why he has such difficulty remembering the details now. Where are the investigative journalists of days past?
