Woman Fatally Shoots Self In Tragic 'Bra Holster' Accident
Much like the 'accidents' where a mother was shot by her toddler at a shopping center when digging around in her concealed carry purse, or the tragedy where a toddler shot his father and pregnant mother another tragedy has occurred when a woman adjusted her apparently uncomfortable concealed carry method:

Oklahoma woman accidentally shot and killed by 3-year-old son
Tragic but better her than one of the kids.
An Oklahoma woman was accidentally shot and killed Monday evening by her toddler son.
Neighbors said the 26-year-old east Tulsa woman, whose name was not released, was home with her 3-year-old son and a 1-year-old daughter when the boy found a high-caliber handgun underneath a couch.
The child managed to pull the trigger, police said, and his mother was shot once in the head as she changed the baby’s diaper.

GA Man Shoots And Kills Man Who Turned Into Wrong Driveway, Gets Probation
The family of the victim may be resigned to this outcome, but I'm not. I've been that person who's trying to figure out a screwy GPS, and I don't think anyone should get to shoot me in head because I pulled into their driveway by mistake:

11 Children Shot in Milwaukee, One in Her Grandpa's Lap
Eleven children under the age of 13 have been shot in the city of Milwaukee so far this year.
And little Laylah had not even been out in the street.
She had been in the presumed safety of her home, sitting on her grandfather’s lap and watching television on Thursday evening, when a dozen shots were fired at the house. A random slug that seems to have been intended for nobody in particular tore through a wall and struck the child in the head.

Alabama man accidentally kills teen son while trying to scare boy during bizarre outburst
An Alabama man accidentally shot and killed his teenage son while trying to scare the boy.
Sexton Adams told police his 17-year-old son was acting in a bizarre and angry manner when he returned about 2 a.m. Friday to their McIntosh home.
Adams said he felt threatened by his son’s unusual behavior and took out his .38-caliber handgun to scare the boy.

The gun supremacists’ folly
Nothing better reveals the utter irrationality of our politics for the whole world to see than this madness about guns — and no issue better demonstrates how deeply divided our nation is by region, ideology and party.
The New York Times reported that in the 12 months after the Sandy Hook shootings, 39 laws were enacted tightening gun restrictions; 25 were passed by state governments under full Democratic control. Seventy laws were passed loosening gun restrictions, 49 of them in Republican-controlled states. The Wall Street Journal cited data showing that 21 states strengthened firearms restrictions in 2013 and 20 weakened them.
Nowhere else in the world do the laws on firearms become the playthings of politicians and lobbyists intent on manufacturing cultural conflict. Nowhere else do elected officials turn the matter of taking a gun to church into a searing ideological question. But then, guns are not a religion in most countries.
The program for the NRA’s annual convention, held over the weekend in Indianapolis, listed sessions on “Survival Mindset: Are You Prepared?”; “Creating a Constitutionally Centered Estate Plan”; and “Refuse to be a Victim.”
Party on, guys. I can’t wait for you to figure out the ways in which even Georgia’s law is too restrictive. In the meantime, the nation’s unarmed majority might ponder how badly we have failed in asserting our own rights.

‘Gun enthusiasts’ stalk and threaten CEO after she develops weapon only owner can fire
Why we call them 'gun nuts'....
Belinda Padilla, president and CEO of the U.S. division of firearm manufacturer Armatix, says she was stalked and threatened by “gun enthusiasts” after she tried to bring a safer handgun to market.
Armatix, a German company, has developed so-called “smart guns” that can only be fired by the owner. The company uses a watch that ties the owner to the weapon, called the iP1. Armatix is already selling the personalized weapons in Europe and Asia.
In an interview published by The New York Times on Monday, Padilla explained what happened when a forum of online “gun enthusiasts” published her cellphone number.
She said it began with a “few fuming-mad voice mail messages and heavy breathers” that got her to stop answering her phone.
And then photos of her home were posted online.
“In a crude, cartoonish scrawl, this person drew an arrow to the blurred image of a woman passing through the photo frame. ‘Belinda?’ the person wrote. ‘Is that you?’” according to the Times.

The School Shootings You Didn’t Hear About—One Every Two Weeks Since Newtown
In the year since Newtown, at least 24 school shootings have claimed at least 17 lives, according to an investigation. On Friday, a day after this investigation, a 25th occurred in Colorado.
