Chocolate Chip Muffins

Making these for the office tomorrow:

1/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup dark brown sugar, packed
2 cups all purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
2/3 cupmilk
1/2 cup butter, melted and cooled
2 eggs slightly beaten
1-1/2 tsp vanilla
1 (12 oz) pkg semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup walnuts, chopped (optional)

In large bowl, stir together sugars, flour, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, mix together milk, butter, eggs, and vanilla until blended. Make a well in center of dry ingredients. Add milk mixutre and stir to combine. Stir in chips.

Spoon into muffin tins containing foil muffin cups. Bake at 400 degrees for 15-20 minutes or until cake tester inserted in center comes out lean. Remove from oven and remove from muffin pans. Cool on wire rack. Serve warm or room temperature. Makes 12 muffins.
