HELP US SAVE MAMMOGRAMS.
The U.S. Senate is about to eliminate guaranteed insurance coverage for
mammograms and other vital cancer screenings by passing S. 1955.
PARTICIPATE IN THE NATIONAL WEEK OF ACTION!
As an advocacy volunteer, your help is needed to stop them.Your senators need to hear
from you – their constituent – that this bill is unacceptable. Let your senators know that
guaranteed insurance coverage for mammograms and other cancer screenings is an
important issue to you, your family and the cancer community. Tell them to oppose
S.1955.
Participate in Three Easy Steps
1. Print the below letter. Add your name, address and why you believe
people need access to mammograms and other cancer screenings.

Dear Senator,
The U.S. Senate is about to vote on S. 1955, which would gut laws in 49 states that
require health insurance to cover mammograms and other important cancer
screenings.
I am deeply concerned that S. 1955 will undermine important patient protections
and hamper efforts to prevent, detect and treat cancer. Early detection of cancer is
the key to saving lives, especially with the use of mammograms to detect breast
cancer. By allowing insurance plans to be exempt from covering cancer screenings,
access to mammograms, colorectal cancer screenings, pap smears, along with
insurance coverage of off-label prescription drugs and participation in clinical trials
would be in jeopardy.
Please stand with me and the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network and
oppose S. 1955 and any other legislation that will not protect insurance coverage for
mammograms and other vital cancer screenings.
Sincerely,
