I read personal messages from people I know. Some people I know pass along jokes and the ever popular "send this to 10 people or the earth will stop spinning" kind of e-mails. If they don't write something like, "This made me think of you" or "I thought you might like this, how's it going?", it goes in the trash. Some funny jokes I will pass along, but I can't read every one of them. On the other hand, why have e-mail if you don't read what people are saying to you? I feel honored when someone I know contacts me.
I agree - I love hearing from folks I know. I think this article was directed more at business email. I know at work - I get over 200 emails per day. Luckily - I can delete at least 1/3 withough looking at them.......
