Another Monday morning. Joy! Been a very busy few days both at home and at the office so haven’t done much blogging or reading of other blogs. Put things up to auto-post and am assuming they did.
Trust everyone had a happy mothers day. Mine was uneventful since kids live thousands of miles away. My son called me at 11:30 last night to wish me a happy mom’s day. I was already dead to the world so heard his message this morning. My sisters and I went and visited my mother together – that’s always fun. One never knows what to expect with my mother. Fortunately she was in good spirits.
I got home from my mothers and felt like I was coming down with something. I was so tired – felt exhausted and wanted to crawl into bed – and I did and at 7PM the snow plow guy called me back and came over to mow my lawn. So I had to drag myself up to go get him some cash to pay him. I came back and paid him and then went for a ride for an hour or so while he did the yard. I came home to a hot mess. He mowed the grass too short and there are grass clippings everywhere including blown into the flowers I put into the ground yesterday morning. Anyway, I have to deal with it until Sears can come out and fix my riding mower. I have tentatively scheduled that for next week which might change due to having a funeral to attend in Cleveland the day it was scheduled. I tried to start the push mower I have that’s out in the shed to no avail. It would not start so I had to pay someone else to do it So this evening I need to go home and edge it up and clean up his mess.
I did get two flats of plants in the ground over the weekend so I’m about done planting flowers this year. My sister got me some kind of flowering vine – with red flowers to match the front door. Now I have to get some lattice to put on the side of my porch and stick that in the ground. My other sister got me another gnome for my porch. I love gnomes - I imagine they bring me good luck. Next weekend I may get four 4’ pieces of lumber and try to start another ‘above ground’ garden project 4’ x 4’. The hard part will be hauling enough bags of topsoil in to fill it. Wonder how much topsoil that would be?
I am a huge fan of ABC’s “Brother’s and Sisters” – don’t know if any of you are but I thought the season finale was a huge disappointment. Gave you no reason to want to tune back in to it next year. So far I think “The Practice” has had the best season finale.
Anyway – I am writing this over my lunch hour and lunch hour is almost done so until next time.
