Office Blogging

**Update: Tree estimate came in at $300. That includes stump grinding. I think that's cheap. I was expecting it to be much more than that.**

It's raining and it's wonderful! I'd love nothing better than to run outside and dance in the rain and enjoy it. Gee - I hope it's raining at my house :( now that would be a downer if it's not.

Tree people are supposed to stop by while I'm at work and leave me an estimate on cutting down a tree in the back. The tree is right along the fence line. It is some huge tree with edible berries on it. A real mess when the berries mature as birds from all across the globe come to eat off this tree and then the purple berries end up on the ground and its a mess to mow and purple bird shit is everywhere........and although I keep it trimmed, the part hanging over the neighbors yard is out of control and their out of control kids are swinging on the branches injuring the tree.....so I'm going to have it chopped down. I want to have a new privacy fence installed as soon as I finish cutting down the old one so the tree needs removed anyway. There's another tree on the fence line that needs cut down as well. Although it's tall, its small and I think I can cut that one down myself. I'm very self reliant you know!

All I do here is attend meetings. It's 12 o'clock and I have done very little today other than sit in meetings. It's very frustrating as next week I am teaching a class all week so have a full plate of things to get done today. Oh how I wish it were Friday.

Air conditioning folks are coming on Monday - temps are supposed to be milder through the weekend. It was very lovely and cool last night. I hope to get the lawn done Friday after work as I have a busy weekend which includes attending "A Chorus Line" with my sisters on Sunday. I purchased the tickets for my youngest sisters birthday and am looking forward to spending some time with them.

Anyway...back to work.....hope everyone has a great day.

raining here too- but it's that annoying rain and drizzle one minute- be gray and humid the next. i got the garage cleaned and sister's garden planted- and much other yardwork over there done. steps at the fam's still aren't finished- as it's raining. otherwise they'd have been done today. i have much cleanup over there too- as i trimmed treelings that had started to grow in my chainlink fence as the neighbors never keep their trees trimmed either. and my motto is 'good fences make good neighbors' ;)

haven't had significant rain today but its not over and storms are moving in. I'll believe it when I see it. We need it as we are 3" below normal already this year. It's too early for 'crispy grass!' Sounds like you have done and are doing lots of work. I love that kind of work. It makes me sleep well and it brings me such sense of accomplishment.
