With Consumer Reports saying that many store brand grocery items are as good as the name brand, the question is how much can you really save by switching? One blogger picked 25 items and
compared the price of the store brand to the name brand at two different supermarket chains. The results: the store brand was 22% to 36% cheaper. In addition, the survey found that discount supermarket chain's store brands were often significantly cheaper than the full price store's store brands.
