lmost 11 million children die each year before their fifth birthday, and 60 percent of those deaths are caused by malnutrition and hunger-related diseases. Worldwide, more than 1 billion people do not have enough to eat.
We have the opportunity to help all the men, women and children around the world who are suffering from hunger by passing the Roadmap to End Global Hunger and Promote Food Security Act of 2009 (H.R. 2817). The Roadmap outlines a national plan to combat hunger, build sustainable solutions to help families provide food for themselves and to create special governmental and Congressional offices to institute policies that will address this crisis and its underlying causes.
Please, ask Congress to help the 1 billion people throughout the world suffering from hunger by supporting the Roadmap to End Global Hunger and Promote Food Security Act of 2009.
