AT&T Caps Internet Usage

The open Internet may be ending: AT&T is putting a limit on free bandwidth use for customers, saying two percent of users are taking up a "disproportionate amount of bandwidth." The company claims 98 percent of customers won't be affected by the change. AT&T said the move will help ease congestion caused by disproportionate use and that "customers strongly believe that only those who use the most bandwidth should pay more than those who don't use as much." Starting May 2, AT&T It will implement a 150GB monthly cap on landline DSL customers and a 250GB cap on subscribers to U-Verse high speed Internet.
