U.S. Soldier to Plead Guilty to Murder

One of 12 U.S. soldiers charged in relation to the murder of three Afghan citizens will plead guilty, says The Wall Street Journal. Army Spc. Jeremy Morlock will admit to three counts of murder and one count of conspiracy in the hopes of receiving a reduced sentence. On Monday, the German magazine Der Spiegel published photographs of the soldiers posing with the corpses of their alleged victims. Morlock’s trial is set to begin Wednesday; his lawyers will use a “good soldier” defense.
