For decades, mumps was found only in medical textbooks, but thanks to a new anti-vaccination movement, it’s returning along with measles, whooping cough, diphtheria, and other deadly childhood illnesses that were believed to be extinct, Russell Saunders writes. More parents seem to forget that vaccines are the best protection we have against the spread of devastating and once-common illnesses.
