Here is the "easy to make" "people will think you worked your behind off" receipe for Cinnamon Rolls.
1 pkg Active Dry Yeast
1/4 cup warm water
4 cups flour
1/4 cup sugar
1 tsp salt
1 cup softened butter
3 egg yolks, beaten
1 cup lukewarm milk
2 tblsp butter
3/4 cup brown sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
Dissolve yeast in warm water.
Mix flour, 1/4 cup sugar and salt i large bowl.
Cut butter until mixture looks like meal.
Stir in yeast, egg yolks and milk.
Mix until dough is smooth.
Cover and refrigerate at least 8 hours.
Grease pan/muffin tin.
Turn 1/2 of the dough onto a well floured board and roll into a 12" x 10' rectangle.
Brush with 1 tblsp melted butter.
Mix brown sugar and the cinnamon and sprinnkle 1/2 the mixture over rectangle. You can also add chopped pecans, walnuts or raisins if desired.
Roll up begining at wide side. Pinch edge of dough to seal. Stretch to make even.
Cut into 1" rolls. Place in pan.
Repeat with remaining dough.
Cover and let rise until double in size 1 to 1-1/2 hours.
Heat oven to 375. Bake 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Frost while warm.
Frosting
Mix 1-1/2 cups powdered sugar
2 tblsp soft butter
1-1/2 tsp vanilla
1-2 tblsp hot water
Mix until smooth
OR you can get fancy and make cream cheese icing
Beat 1 8oz pkg Cream Cheese
1 stick butter
1 box powdered sugar
2 tsp vanilla
