What a pompous ass
As more and more former colleagues come forward to call out Fox News' Bill O'Reilly on his "war zone" and "combat situation" lies, Mr. O'Reilly appears to have lost his ever-loving mind:
During a phone conversation, he told a reporter for The New York Times that there would be repercussions if he felt any of the reporter’s coverage was inappropriate. "I am coming after you with everything I have," Mr. O’Reilly said. “You can take it as a threat.”

The Fox News Lie Machine: Fact Checking Sean Hannity on Obama Care
One has to wonder if there is a point at which the viewers of Fox decide they are sick of being deceived, manipulated and lied to. Clearly the Affordable Care Act would help most of the people who are against it but they don't know the facts. I for one think there needs to be laws prohibiting propaganda without a disclaimer to the audience.
I happened to turn on the Hannity show on Fox News last Friday evening. “Average Americans are feeling the pain of Obamacare and the healthcare overhaul train wreck,” Hannity announced, “and six of them are here tonight to tell us their stories.” Three married couples were neatly arranged in his studio, the wives seated and the men standing behind them, like game show contestants.
As Hannity called on each of them, the guests recounted their “Obamacare” horror stories: canceled policies, premium hikes, restrictions on the freedom to see a doctor of their choice, financial burdens upon their small businesses and so on.
“These are the stories that the media refuses to cover,” Hannity interjected.
But none of it smelled right to me. Nothing these folks were saying jibed with the basic facts of the Affordable Care Act as I understand them. I understand them fairly well; I have worked as a senior adviser to a governor and helped him deal with the new federal rules.
I decided to hit the pavement. I tracked down Hannity’s guests, one by one, and did my own telephone interviews with them.

Fox contributor on women raped in the military: What did they expect?
Fox News contributor Liz Trotta on Monday suggested women serving alongside male service members should expect to be raped and complained about the money spent on women who are “now being raped too much.”

FoxNews.com Readers’ Unbelievably Racist Reactions to Whitney Houston’s Death
Whitney Houston died at 48 on Saturday. Fox News’ coverage is pretty much matter-of-fact. Then, those who wanted to weigh in on the story were treated to these sympathetic eulogies.
Fairly Obvious Warning: There’s some pretty graphic language in these quotes. It’s one of those things you read and think, “I don’t want to live on this planet anymore,” or “Maybe the U.S. should divide into two parts.” Then again, considering the news network hosts contributors who call the president a “skinny, ghetto crackhead,” this might not surprise you at all.

Muppets Fire Back At Fox
We worried a bit when Fox attacked the Muppets back in December. We shouldn't have; Miss Piggy can take care of herself.

Jon Stewart to Fox News: Making the Super-Rich Pay Taxes is "Class Warfare"? No, the War Is on the Poor
It seems like everyone in America read Warren Buffett's recent New York Times op-ed, in which he implored the government to stop giving tax breaks to the country's super-rich. As Jon Stewart pointed out last night, conservatives on Fox News deemed Buffett's treatise -- and the very notion of raising taxes for the wealthiest Americans -- a declaration of "class warfare" against the rich. Oh please.
Doing what he does best, Stewart completely destroyed that line of reasoning, pointing out, among other things, that income inequality in the U.S. is worse than in many developing nations. Also: "Raising the income tax rate on the top 2% of earners would generate $700 billion. But taking half of everything the bottom 50% have in this country would do the same." YUP.

Racist Fox News Claims Obama's Birthday Party Was a "Hip-Hop BBQ" That "Didn't Create Jobs"
Just when you think Fox News has exhausted all the racist things there are to say about our president, BAM! They come up with a fresh absurdity.ThinkProgress pointed us to this one via Twitter:
That's right, Obama didn't have a birthday party, he had a "hip-hop BBQ," whatever that is. And if Fox's art choices are to be believed, 100% of the the guests were Black! (Fact-check from ThinkProgress: "nothing says hip hop like Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson.")
What's more, while our president was listening to hip-hop and eating BBQ with his Black friends, he didn't create one single job! The nerve! If he would only focus on job-creation, like those Republicans.

GOP Rep Jokes About Murdering Treehugging Democrats
While hunters, sportsmen, and trappers across the country are actually helping 'liberal democrats' to pass climate legislation, GOP Representative Gregg Harper is talking about murdering them. When Politico asked him what the Congressional Sportsmen's Caucus does--Harper is a member--he replied, "We hunt liberal, tree-hugging Democrats, although it does seem like a waste of good ammunition."
The remark was given during a routine interview with Politico, in which he not so subtly displayed his distaste for environmentalists and members of the opposite party.
And that's a pretty grim joke if I've heard one. What politician--especially in the age of the omnipresent sound byte--thinks it's a good idea to talk about killing their political opponents? The punchline of this joke isn't 'environmentalist Democrats are stupid' or backwards, it's literally that they deserve death. Um, ha?
