The second thing anyone who knows me knows about me is that I dislike country western music. It actually makes me physically sick. I guess I associate it with rednecks and racisim and can't get past that. Soooo, that being said, I resisted watching "Walk the Line" because I associated Johnny Cash with C&W music. I watched it this evening and I must say I really enjoyed it. The music was more bluesie than country and I plan to see if I can get some on Johnny Cash CDs from the library. I didn't think the story had much depth to it -- it was lacking a certain 'richness'. However, the performances of Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon alone make the movie worth watching. That's what they mean by an Oscar caliber performance. You believed you were watching June Carter and Johnny Cash. I can't say enough about their performances. If you haven't seen it - RENT IT!!!

I am on the other hand like modern country western music lol.....I loved this movie; I agree that the performances by actors was incredible. It also made me want to relook at the older music that he had done.
Keep up the great blog!
