My Week in Review

February - and I have the winter blahhhhs. Not feeling very energetic after weeks of subfreezing temps and a couple bouts of snow. Really sucks having to drive to and fro to a job you hate in bad weather!

Not much has changed on that front so far --- however, they are bringing in more people --- a few temporary employees to help with the workload. They also do have a plan which if all goes as planned will change my work load dramatically! But you know what they say about the best laid plans so I will continue to look for other opportunities.

I took Friday off to put my car in the shop. I had an alarm going off in my car about the brake system. I feared it was going to be a repair costing hundreds of dollars - which really would have made me angry since my car is a month away from the end of its lease period. Turned out it was low on brake fluid (surprising since I take my car in for maintenance religiously). Also had something wrong with the temperature guage so they replaced that.

Saturday I test drove a couple of cars. I think I have decided on the Honda Civic. Just need to decide in the next day or two if I want the SI or EX version of the car. I am so used to driving a stick shift and it is next to impossible to get the EX in a manual version. The SI is ONLY made in the manual version but it is a more expensive care - about $3500 more. I have fallen in love with the on board navigation system and simply MUST have it :-) I'll decide in the next day or two. Will probably opt for the EX and have to get used to driving an automatic. I need to get my Passat inspected and prepared to turn in before 3/31/07.

Talked to my son this week. Said he was doing fine and on his way to hook up with some girl. He hasn't gotten a job yet - will probably have to work nights so he can meet his parole obligations of going to school, etc. Shannon and her brood moved into their house and are thrilled. All is right in their world. The photo is of their little house.

College basketball season is heating up as we get down to tournament time. Anyone who knows me well knows I love college hoops - only sport I watch. Ohio State is ranked #2 and they are playing the #1 ranked team at home this afternoon. I'm psyched!
