Are You A Worry Wart?

Some people stress about everything all the time. To gauge whether your worry is excessive, psychologist Susan Nolen-Hoeksema and psychiatrist Edward Hollowell suggest you answer the following questions. If you answer yest to three or more of them and you cant get a grip on your worrying, talk to a therapist. Medication or counseling could help ease your mind.
  • Do you think you're preoccupied by your troubles more than most of your friends are by theirs?
  • Do other people say you worry too much?
  • Do you wish you worried less?
  • Do you often lie awake at night thinking of worse-case scenarios?
  • Does a fear of being fired affect your ability to function at work?
  • Is your anxiety giving you stomach aches, headaches or some other malady?
  • Does your uneasiness or insecurity prevent you from enjoying yourself?
  • Do you have trouble turning off your worries?
