Stuff

Haven't done an update in a while and since I'm home today and have a bit of time I thought I'd do one.

Been kind of hectic lately. Who thought working from home would be hectic? Anyway, I've been doing about an hour of overtime each day. That's far less overtime than I did at my last job AND unlike my last job I get paid for it so am liking the extra money. Lots of the overtime has been due to system issues on top of added 'tasks' we are doing with each patient we review. (e.g. 'have you had your flu vaccine?' 'why aren't you on an ACE inhibitor?') Each of these items requires different documentation in the system which translates into more time spent with each patient contacted. When screens take 30 seconds to load - that's a lot of wasted time each day. So we're doing overtime to try to get through our patient load but we only stay until six - then the Reno office takes over. If I have something to do, it's not mandatory that I stay.

It was recently announced that our company was sold to a publicly held company for over $300 million. Our projected earning this year are a little over $70 million so they must see something to have paid over 4x the projected earnings. We are all excited about it because it will probably translate into increased/better benefits for us as well as stock options in an industry (disease management) that is growing rapidly.

I was required to go into the office to work on Wednesday. Boy, was that traumatic. I am accustomed to going to bed between 12 and 2 AM and rolling out of bed at 7:30. Heck I don't have to take time showering, doing hair and make up or anything - so I can get up at 7:30, brew a pot of coffee and be ready to rock and roll by 8AM. It's a pretty cushy existence I've settled into. On my first break I usually throw in a load of laundry. During my lunch hour I usually shower and get dressed and clean something. So are my work days......so getting up at 5:30am and leaving the house at 7:00 to drive through horrendous traffic was a shock to my system. I was so beat when I got home I went to bed at 9PM. I was so glad that day came to an end and thankful to be in my flannel pantsuit yesterday. Then horror of horrors I find out at 5 mins until 5:00PM yesterday that I have been selected to be one of the players for this new contract we have that goes live in December so starting Monday I have to go to the office for two weeks for training. Needless to say, I am not a happy camper right now. I am dreading it. Gas is back up, it's cold now, this will cut into my overtime pay. It just sucks all around. BUT I am trying desperately to stay positive about it...."trying" being the operative word!

I did finally receive my Dyson Vacuum Cleaner and it is everything they tout it to be. I was thinking of having wood floors installed in the house but now I'm thinking really plush carpet just so I can run this bad boy. I tell you it's vacuum nirvana! That thing sucks the dog hair out of my furniture with ease. Used to take me 40 minutes or so to vacuum the large sofa - now I can do it in 10 minutes or so. I am very satisfied with the product.....it was worth every penny.

I have some coupons for Blockbuster which are good for 2 Free DVD Rentals, free bucket of popcorn and 2 free soda's. They expire in December. If you would like one email me at eaprez@gmail.com and I will forward you one.

It's up to 65 degrees now so I'm off to mow the front lawn and wash the car. Have a great day!

So sorry to hear you're going to have to endure another two weeks of the daily commuter hassle. You're right...it sucks!!!

And, speaking of all the dog hair you can now vacuum with ease, how are your three wonderful guys doing?
