First of all, thank you to everyone for the birthday greetings. I am always very touched when anyone remembers my birthday. It means a lot to me and is something I don't take for granted. Thanks again.
It's been a while since I did an update. Hmmmmmmm.........I was off starting the Wednesday before Thanksgiving through the following Monday. I spent Thanksgiving at my middle sisters home and had a swell time. We played the traditional cut throat Euchre game and at the end of the evening played poker. It was about 11:30 when I got home. I spent the rest of the weekend catching up on chores and resting. I don't do the after Thanksgiving buying frenzy thing. Not a fan of it and don't do it. The only thing I bought the day after Thanksgiving was a new television for my bedroom which I did on line.
I also took a long weekend for my birthday which was nice. I am scheduled to work the 24th through the 1st - two days at double time and a half - I am looking forward to that check!!!!!!!
I did finish my Christmas shopping. I did all of it online and finished up yesterday. Since my family refuses to draw names - they get 'family' gifts. I also throw in books - lots of books. A couple years ago I bought everyone a copy of "Johnny Got His Gun" - an antiwar novel and my favorite book of all time. I am passing out two books this year which I will relate after Christmas.
The biggest thing to happen to me was the delivery of my new television for the bedroom. It's a Sony Bravidia 40" LCD HD - and although the television in my living room is high def - the living room doesn't have my memory foam mattress in it!!!!!!!! I have become a television whore. I don't watch TV for endless hours and after it was delivered I laid in bed and watched television for two and a half days! I was amazed myself at what I had turned in to. Heck, it's cold and wet and gets dark early - and it's so easy to lay up in the bed under the down comforter and watch television. Anyway, I had to snap out of that routine or I was destined to become a horizontal couch potato. I was worried that the 40" TV might be too big and overwhelming for the bedroom. Actually, it fits perfect and I am very pleased with my purchase.
Hope everyone is happy and healthy and not too stressed out over the holidays. Take time to reflect over the holidays and what you don't like - make a decision to make a change and do so.
