My Life

Well, after our 20.5" snowfall of last weekend, we are pushing the 60 degree mark here today. The concrete is visible as are large patches of the lawn. The sun is shining, and its a beautiful day in the neighborhood.

I injured my neck/back trying to keep up with the snow and had to call off work on Sunday to recuperate. I am still a bit stiff and sore but get better each day. Getting older really sucks. I've always been so independent and self reliant but I just can't handle clearing 20.5 inches of snow by myself. Hard reality to face. I need to find a handy young stud to keep around for entertainment and for yard work - or as my co-workers suggested - consider a condo where shoveling and mowing are taken care of. Although the idea is appealing - its hard to beat my $600 mortgage payment. Yard work has always been very relaxing and therapeutic for me. Condo living - sounds O-L-D.

Yesterday I had to go into the office to work. They were celebrating the first year anniversary of the Columbus office. Also learned that they are hiring an additional 12 nurses. It's a growing company which is always exciting....especially when the company invests in new employees to keep pace with the growth. So different from the last company I worked for who tripled in size and couldn't understand why the same number of employees couldn't keep up with the workload. Anyway, we were provided with both lunch and dinner.

Going to the office is such a traumatic experience for me. I'm used to rolling out of bed at 7:30AM and on office days I have to get up at 5:30 so I can be out the door by 7:00AM. In addition to the shock of getting up and having to wear 'real clothes' I loathe the traffic. As luck would have it there was a semi truck/car crash on the route I take to the office and traffic was stop and go from the moment I entered the freeway. Why do people have to slow down and gawk at an accident? Are people soooooooo desperate for attention that they are hoping to get to work and say "I saw a body on the way to work today?" for a few seconds of attention? Man, that really annoys me. Although I loathed going into the office to work, it was nice to mingle with co-workers face to face who are normally only an IM message on my computer each day. I was beat when I got home and climbed into bed around 10:30 and slept like a log until 9AM today.

I had been considering buying another ipod and had been browsing the Apple and Amazon sites pricing them and deciding the options I wanted. I have a first generation shuffle and a first generation Nano. Time to upgrade! I was in Target the other evening and they had their 3rd generation 4G Nano's on sale for $149 from $199 - AND they had one of them marked clearance for $99. The hard plastic case which the Nano's are packaged in was cracked and so they sold it as a repackaged item - so I got a $200 Nano for half price. SWEET!!!!!!

Was able to watch Oprah's live web event this past Monday without a hitch so I was happy. I am enjoying the book and the show. I would encourage those of you who haven't read the book to do so. You can still download the classes and watch them at your leisure. I intend to spend the rest of my day finishing the book and catching up on the workbook and just relaxing. I am off this weekend and have lots to get done so today I do NOTHING.

That's all for now folks. Love you!
