Drilling is NOT the answer, baby!

With Congress back for a three-week whirlwind session, and the mindless mantra of "drill, baby, drill" at last week's Republican National Convention (watch video), common sense seems to be drowning.

Rather than mantras and chanting, we need courage and leadership. Where's the leadership that will rally Americans to "invent, baby, invent"? Americans have risen to the challenge before - to be bold, creative, forward thinking. Gasp, even progressive. Tell John McCain and Barack Obama to display true leadership for energy innovation and conservation

We can't drill our way to energy independence. For true energy security, U.S. leaders need to focus on reducing our need for oil - which is where real national energy security lies - not on more drilling, more carbon emissions, more barge and tanker traffic, more accidental oil spills.

Tell the candidates that you want a leader who will stand strong against more drilling, and for a clean energy future.
