As far as people we hardly knew, who died in August '08--I believe I was in love with Diane Webber (died Aug. 19) since the day I first saw her in a nudist magazine in the sixties. I didn't know then that she was a former Playboy model or that she was the "mermaid queen" in the Mermaids of Tiburon. I didn't discover the fact that this model/actress and the woman in the nudist magazines was one and the same person until just recently.
I'm not given to celebrity worship and clinging to idols I do not know, but in her case, I've made a lifelong exception. Goodbye, Diane, I'll remember you fondly.
