Fruits of my weekend labor

On Friday my sister and her husband met me at Target with their truck to help me get this umbrella home. It shades my entire porch so was worth the investment. Was very easy to assemble. I am very pleased with it. Will allow me to utilize the porch during times when I haven't been able to in the past due to the heat and direct sunlight.

The vegetable garden is double in size from last year and I bought a tiller so I could do them in the ground vs above the ground. I have covered it in plastic to kill any remaining vegetation. On Friday I plan to till some manure into the soil and put the tomatoes and herbs in on Saturday morning.

The last pic depicts the annuals I put in along the porch. In the back corner I am putting in some perennials that I ordered which haven't arrived yet. I think next year I am going to opt for perennials along the porch as well so I don't have to be bothered with planting again.

Herbs, tomatoes, onions, peppers and green beans.

A lovely space to enjoy martini's.

I'm thinking of putting a pool in.
