Website of the Day

Last year, a twentysomething marketing manager named Nick Risinger quit his day job and set out on a great adventure. Happily for us, he took a few cameras along.

In the months that followed, Risinger traveled 60,000 miles—to places where light pollution hasn’t yet reached—and took 37,440 carefully synchronized shots of the night sky. He came home with the stunning 360-degree, 5,000-megapixel photograph you’ll see on his website. You can zoom in and out, scroll left or right, or lay a map of the constellations over the image. It’s a very simple, very beautiful way to explore the universe, one star at a time.
