You can only experience love if you allow yourself to let it in.
If you’re jaded about other people’s intentions, you’ll never know what love feels like. If you don’t think pure love exists, you can’t possibly experience it. If you feel that you’re unlovable, you’ll never believe that anyone loves you.
You didn’t build your beliefs about love overnight, and you likely won’t break them down down that way either. But you can do something simple to open yourself up to love today: seek and appreciate love in the little things–right now.
Not as some elusive fantasy or romantic ideal, but something beautiful and wonderful that’s available in this moment.
When someone looks out for you, empathizes with you, stands up for you, listens to you, relates to you, hugs you, shares something they love with you, appreciates you, respects you, accepts you, acknowledges you–these are all acts of love. Open your eyes and notice them today.
