Concussions May Cause Alzheimer's

More bad news for the NFL. According to a new study published in the journal Neurology, people who have suffered concussions may be more likely to develop Alzheimer’s disease as they get older. The study found that people with traumatic brain injuries formed plaques on the brain similar to those found in people with the debilitating disease. Previous research has supported the link, including studies that show athletes in high-contact sports where they receive blows to the head like football and boxing, are more at risk for dementia.
