Hi again then Beth (I have to assume you (me?) call yourself Beth since your blog is called Beth's Blog. Funny your URL is bethsownblog. Sounds like some rivalry going on there somewhere.
I don't think of progressives as being some lesser form of liberal. Maybe it's just a newer word and I like the nuance. Regardless, I am a believer in the free interchange of ideas (as opposed for instance to the supression and surveilence of ideas). And I am for our constitution.
I agree with a lot of your choices - I listen to Air America as well where Thom Hartman is my favorite. I also love Stephanie Miller who is with the Jones Network but also on the local progressive station here.

I forgot to mention that I left my last job to unload the stress just as you did. I've decided I can really enjoy a little less money and a lot less stress.

I had to pick "bethsownblog" because "bethsblog" was taken. By some right wing scoundrel no doubt :) I don't mind the progressive label just think it gained popularity because people were running from the "L" word which we allowed the Repubs to turn into something 'evil'...I don't run from the word was my only point.
I have recently started listening to Thom Hartman. Very smart/sharp guy. On XM they play Ed Schultz who I also like a lot during Thom's broadcast so I have to podcast him. I used to listen to Ms Miller during the brief time we had an Air America affiliate here in Columbus, Ohio - and initially I liked her a lot - still do - her show however (unless it has changed) the schtick got old for me. I got bored with the drunk jokes and bathroom jokes after high school and EVERYTHING is NOT funny. Her show was about bitching and complaining and not enough 'what are we going to do about it?'

I left my last job because it was at a start up company and we have been grossly understaffed for over two years. I got sick of the overtime without compensation. Besides, I was working for the dark side - an RN case manager for an HMO. I saw the error of my ways and now sit at home and check in with Congestive Heart Failure patients and make sure they're doing well.
I assumed that was your email address above but I just got an error mail delivery error. I double-checked my spelling. Or am I just being dumb?
