Thanksgiving Weekend Wrap Up

Happy Sunday after Thanksgiving to all. I hope you all had a nice, restful holiday and spent it with people you wanted to spend it with. My Thanksgiving was very nice. We've had nice weather here until today. Today it is gray, cold and raining with a chance of it turning to snow tonight and tommorrow.

I have been off of work since Wednesday and I am off tomorrow as well so I have been taking it easy - avoiding the madness of those in search of bargins. I will venture out this evening though to meet my sisters for dinner at one of the top steak houses in the city. I invited my brother to go along but he said he had other plans this evening. He's so distant from the three of us so we are trying to gather him into the fold. I don't really know my brother as I moved away when I was 18 and haven't had much contact with him since moving back to Ohio 10 years ago. So that is a goal going into the new year.

We didn't draw names again for Christmas this year much to my dismay. There are no small kids and its so stressful trying to buy for everyone. I have 15 people to buy for not counting coworkers and friends I'd like to get something for and I hate buying small, meaningless gifts.... I'd rather buy one substantial gift that I know someone would love and use.and actually. I also hate receiving small meaningless gifts. Oh, I appreciate the thought but hate getting an ill thought out gift that someone gives just so they can say they got you something with no thought about me as a person. I just toss them anyway. How's that for being a grinch!!!!!!!!!!! I'd rather they spend their money getting a toy for a tot or something rather than something for me.

So, I am off to get ready to go out to dinner....hope all of you had a wonderful holiday.
